RingCentral AI Receptionist Pricing: The Per-Minute Math

HiBell › Insights

RingCentral’s AI Receptionist, usually shortened to AIR, has one of the lowest starting prices on the market. The number on the page is real. What it buys is 100 minutes, and most of the cost for a working business sits in what happens after those minutes run out.

These figures are from RingCentral’s own pricing page, checked in October 2026.

What RingCentral publishes

Option Starting price Minutes included
Standalone, works with any phone system $49 a month 100
Add-on to a RingEX phone plan $39 a month 100

Extra minutes are $0.50 each on a pay-as-you-go basis, billed in 30-second blocks and rounded up. RingCentral also sells larger minute bundles, but those prices are not on the page. There is a 14-day free trial. Source: RingCentral AI Receptionist pricing.

If you take the add-on route, the RingEX seats themselves are a separate monthly cost per user.

What 100 minutes covers

If your calls average three minutes, 100 minutes is about 33 calls. For many shops that is one busy week.

Here is the standalone plan at three volumes, using the published overage rate:

Minutes used Plan Overage Monthly total
100 $49 $0 $49
400 $49 300 x $0.50 = $150 $199
1,000 $49 900 x $0.50 = $450 $499

Ask about bundles. If you expect to use more than a few hundred minutes, the pay-as-you-go rate is the wrong number to plan around. Ask RingCentral for the bundle pricing in writing before you start the trial.

Who sets it up

AIR is self-serve. You point it at your website, FAQs and documents, and it learns from those. RingCentral’s own line is that no IT support is needed. That is a real advantage if you want to be live by the afternoon.

It also means the upkeep is yours. When your hours change, when you add a service, or when callers keep asking something it gets wrong, someone on your team has to notice and fix it.

What it handles

AIR answers calls and can send texts. RingCentral’s page does not list web chat, WhatsApp or social messages for this product.

How HiBell is different

HiBell is a managed service. Our team builds the agent with you, connects it to your calendar and systems, reviews real conversations and keeps improving it after launch. It covers calls, web chat, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and SMS, so a customer gets the same answer wherever they reach you.

You start with a free 30-day managed pilot, and usage and any phone or third-party costs are confirmed with you before launch. If you are weighing self-serve against managed, managed AI vs doing it yourself walks through the trade-off, and the hidden costs of AI voice agents covers what per-minute pricing leaves out.
