Nextiva AI Receptionist Pricing: How XBert Is Billed

HiBell › Insights

Nextiva’s AI receptionist is called XBert. Its pricing is simpler than most: one plan, one overage rate. The part that takes a minute to understand is the unit, because Nextiva does not bill by the call or by the minute. It bills by the interaction.

These figures are from Nextiva’s own product and pricing pages, checked in October 2026.

What Nextiva publishes

  • Price: $99 a month.
  • Included: 100 interactions.
  • After that: $0.99 for each extra interaction.
  • Terms: no contract, with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • Setup: guided self-setup, with assisted setup from Nextiva’s team at no extra fee.

What counts as an interaction

Nextiva counts an interaction when a call lasts 30 seconds or more, or when a text or chat gets three or more replies from the AI. So a quick wrong number does not count, and a long call costs the same as a short one.

That is friendlier than per-minute billing if your calls run long. It is less friendly if you get a high number of short, simple calls, since each one that passes 30 seconds uses a full interaction.

What 300 interactions cost

Interactions in a month Plan Overage Monthly total
100 $99 $0 $99
300 $99 200 x $0.99 = $198 $297
600 $99 500 x $0.99 = $495 $594

Do you need a Nextiva phone plan?

Nextiva presents XBert as something you add to a Nextiva plan, and its own blog calls it a standalone add-on available on any plan. The page does not say clearly whether you can run it on a phone system from another provider, so ask before you assume.

If you do need a plan, Nextiva lists its Core plan at $15 per user a month on annual billing or $23 month to month, Engage at $25 or $50, and Scale at $75. Source: Nextiva pricing.

Budget for both lines. If XBert sits on top of a Nextiva phone plan, your real monthly number is the seats plus the $99 plus any overage, not the $99 alone.

What it handles

XBert covers phone calls, text messages and web chat, and Nextiva also mentions messaging apps without naming which ones. If WhatsApp or a specific social channel matters to you, get that confirmed.

How HiBell is different

XBert is a product you set up, with help. HiBell is a managed service: our team builds the agent with you, connects it to your calendar and systems, reviews real conversations and keeps improving it. It covers calls, web chat, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and SMS.
